Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who is impacted?
A:
Renewing Fully Insured and ASO employer groups with 1-150 employees will need to provide MSP information. It is the responsibility of the employer group health plan to update Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) about any employee count changes throughout the year.

Q: When will BCBSNM contact affected groups?
A:
Communications are being sent to employers beginning in June. Periodic communications (emails or calls made to accounts with invalid or missing email addresses) may be sent to groups that have not responded prior to the Sept. 7 deadline.

Q: When is the MSP information due?
A:
To be processed as timely, the last day to complete the MSP information through BAE is Sept. 7, 2022.

Q: Can producers provide the MSP information in BAE for their groups?
A: Yes. If Primary Producers and Delegated Producers have access to their groups’ BAE accounts, they may complete and submit the MSP information on behalf of their groups.

Q: If a form is submitted with an error, can a producer or group resubmit the form through BAE?
A: No, but we can provide you with a new form. Contact us at 855-804-3635 or data_collection@bcbsil.com. We will email you a PDF that you can complete and email back to us. Remember to return it by Sept. 7, 2022.

Q: Is this form different from the form groups completed in the past?
A: Some questions are presented in a new, simpler format. However, we are asking the same questions as we have in the past.
